Activities

There are many activities from scenic flights around Mt Cook to relaxing in the nearby Hot Spa Pools on the Lake front, or for the more active a walk up Mt John (or you can drive up) enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out over the Lake, mountains, and vast Mackenzie District. You won´t run out of things to do and see in Lake Tekapo.

Air Safaris

Air Safaris has operated alpine flight seeing throughout the world heritage national parks of Aoraki Mount Cook and Westland Tai Poutini since 1970. The iconic Air Safaris Grand Traverse scenic flight provides the opportunity to view New Zealand´s highest peaks and longest glaciers. You can catch the Grand Traverse flight from either of Air Safaris' modern facilities located within the South Island of New Zealand at Lake Tekapo and Franz Josef.

Tekapo Helicopters

Established in 1998. Tekapo Helicopters is operating out of the beautiful Lake Tekapo region. Our parent company "Alpine Adventures" locally owned and operated in Fox Glacier began glacier flights in 1986 and now operate modern turbine helicopters from bases in Franz Josef Glacier, Fox Glacier, Kaikoura, Makaroa and Lake Tekapo.
